Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
You’re right. Thanks for pointing that out I’ll get that done

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
I know, I got a bit tired and it ended up like this
I think it won't be very noticeable in game unless you look very close. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for your help. I’ll finish the shoegear. I don’t need to do much work on themDelsin wrote:I know, I got a bit tired and it ended up like thisI think it won't be very noticeable in game unless you look very close. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
If you've used the cylinder command for the wheels, I'd add an extra few faces to them to make them look more, well, wheel shaped.
I know in the early days of BVE using the cylinder/cube command was frowned upon, but we're in 2018 now.
Looking good though.

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
What for? Unless someone is going to make an inspection pit simulation out of OpenBVE, the curvyness is absolutely enough. Remember bogies are deep under the train, virtually invisible from cab view (which, after all, still is the main perspective) and more or less never seen from up close.

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
Depends on the "viewcam / points of interest" offered by the developer. Though an underground train doesn't get the opportunitiy to flash its bits as much as a surface train, too dark in those tunnels to see a lot.and more or less never seen from up close.
That cylinder trick is just what I've done with my current project, same as I did with a lot of the road vehicles, not difficult to do.
- Code:
[meshbuilder]
cylinder 20,0.39,0.39,0.075
rotate 0,0,1,90
translate -0.82,0.39,1.14
color 140,140,140

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
I’m still getting to grips with the coding. But how can I add more faces to a Cylinder?

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
By raising the first argument in the cylinder command.
Consider the front wheel of this vehicle.
6 faced wheel (texture removed)

12 faced

18 faced

- Code:
cylinder 6, 0.55, 0.55, 0.3

18 faced

cylinder 18, 0.55, 0.55, 0.3

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
Odd all this, I been using 20 face cylinder wheels in my stuff for years!
So they can be worth a look if you want to figure something out even if you don't like my one face coding. lol

There might well be. I’ve decided to leave the 1992 and 1995/96 stocks out of it since they are all in development by Ad1992RR_Nick wrote:WOW looks really good is there a 2009 stock involved

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
I found some old pictures of my 1986 stock projects. Due to there being a lack of resources on it I haven’t really had much to work on especially for the red train. If anyone knows any better ways to make the textures photorealistic or help with a little editing of some parts do let me know thanks

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
It’s been a while since the last update and progress was slow due to GCSEs and extensive study
I’m working on the A stock at the moment and I’ve finally got the model off sketchup and into openBVE. Besides the textures reversing themselves which will be fixed easily it actually didn’t come out too badly
On an off-topic note if anyone plans to update the Bakerloo Line and the Watford DC Line I have a bunch of pictures I took for the overground portion of the route between Kenton and Queens Park if your interested PM me or if you’d like to use the textures for another use PM me also

Overhaul restarted, all trains except A stock are being rebuilt. This thread is a bit cluttered and More updates will be posted on Movingmillion’s thread

Re: Overhauling trains from the London Underground Network
chrisrose1993, the 1983 stock can be very handy to me. It looks much more better than the other b3d trains. Therefore, is there a link to download it?
