I've got a couple of BVE2 era routes, plus a reasonable selection of Mechanik stuff up at the moment as well as my own stuff, and I promise I'm not going anywhere.
I would post more of my older collection, most of which has vanished off the face of the internet, but the last set of 'issues' makes me wary of doing that.

Thanks for the offers guys - much appreciated!
Chris, I'll drop you a PM when I'm ready to publish it if you're sure mate, until I can get some decent hosting of my own sorted, time and patients are my main downfall in getting it done sooner! Lol.
Thanks all!
Re: Isle of Wight
No problem
Got plenty of space and bandwidth to spare, and I've been here since before the beginning-
I remember the Crotrainz forums; Last time they came up only a few of us remembered them.....
It's also rather scary to think that my site started in September 2001, although I didn't end up at my current domain until June 2005
I know all about time; I really need to finish the current update to the Plymouth route (99% finished the refurb of the scenery between St. Germans and Menheniot, but I've been distracted by working on the main OpenBVE source), and I've also got the Western that hasn't quite been done yet
Cheers

Re: Isle of Wight
Blimey, Crotrainz... That's a name I've not heard for a few years! I think it was about 2005 that I got into BVE.
My main problem is working on more than one thing at once... the IOW has been neglected for the past couple of weeks after I decided to build a trainshed following a visit to Filey in Yorkshire, I have no route in mind for it, I just wanted to build it!

Re: Isle of Wight
Nice release today. I am quite busy during the business week, but I might take a closer look during the weekend.

Re: Isle of Wight
Excellent work on the route and was nice one to drive.

Re: Isle of Wight
What a simply delightful route. Even though it's short, at a little over 5km, it is very scenic.
I did encounter some problems. 31 errors on loading, all apparently to do with missing signals
It's worth "embedding" any signals you use in the object folder with your route, to avoid these sort of problems.
The only other thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the platforms. Straight 25m sections of platform on a nicely curved rail doesn't work, unless the curve is a very large radius - your station curves are too sharp to get away with it! Try Chris Lee's "Platform utility" with your textures and you'll see the difference!
Good work though, keep it up!

Ah yeah I didn't think about the signals... I'll have to look in to it.
Someone on the other BVE forum has created smooth curved platforms for the route, so I'll have to have a go at making some myself.
Thanks for the kind comments!

Re: Isle of Wight
This is what I've been using:
http://www.bvecornwall.co.uk/wordpress/trackgen/
All the platforms in my latest routes (Kilmagranny & Cheltenham) were produced with this.
All I needed to do was a little work with my custom textures and to modify some dimensions in one or two special cases.

There was a project for the class 483 that was revived in 2018 from a model which was displayed on the BVETerminus forums if it's any help to you

Yeah, I do remember seeing that but didn't think it ever saw the light of day, I believe it's based on my original model from the IoW route.
I've made a few improvements over the original model included with the IoW route, the cab roof dome is now 3D, textures have been cleaned up, extra 3D detail added and constructed a basic interior.
I did consider doing the full 3D interior, but I don't think it's needed.

Re: Isle of Wight
I've been giving the Island Line a bit of a refresh.
At Sandown, the texture have been cleaned up, buildings updated and a lot more 3D detail added especially around the platform canopy area.

Lake has a new shelter, updated signage, new ramps.

- Shanklin, Lake and Sandown stations all updated and detailed
- Trackwork replaced and new 3rd rail equipment added
- Scenery updated, although the previous high detailed scenery looked good, it killed frame rates

Re: Isle of Wight
I'm really excited about this update, I love the route. The original scenery is beautiful, I'm kind of sorry if it gets simplified.
