Well, I have a motherboard capable of handling DDRII at 667/800 MHz and free PCI-E x16 slot. I was thinking about buying a new graphic card, but I have tested Radeon 5450 with DDR3 at 1600MHz and it was not able to work. What graphic card is going to work for me? Are there any basic technical criteria it has to meet? Obviously I don't want nVidia 7300 LE, for example...
I think the PCI-E is 1.0, but the graphic card should all be retrospectively compatible (although not performing at 100%)

"Ultimate" is the word for win7 - I got it on my laptop and it's CRAP!
I wish I was clever enough to go Linux and not have to use windows but I can't even get the bloody sim to go on a Mac so I would be in real touble with Ubuntu or whatever.

Might not be as difficult as you think, gray. Openbve 1.2.10.0 is one click on Ubuntu.

Well, I have it both on my desktop and laptop and I cannot really complain to be honest... works very well. Anyhow, that does no solve my problem.

Better talk to my father about this as he works with computers, so he might have a solution to this problem, but not completely sure though....
