HS2 train exterior model livery [community effort]
As this is the first community made route of 2012, we as a bve community all need to pitch in! Everyone can join in!
What we need is new car exterior textures, these can be composed by any means. i will be making the model, and help will be coming from others too!
Whats needed
image size is 2058 - 512 no more, no less
5 types of car images. with left and right sides ( if you have writing on the sides)
1. power front
2. power back
3. restaurant car
4. normal class
5. first class
You dont need to add windows as this will be done after, but bear in mind space for the doors
Front images will be done by me as the exterior is yet to be made.
Anyone is welcome, and let the fun start

Well, not living in Britain myself, but I applaud the idea.

Are you looking at a specific train, or a mixture of locos, eg class 390 joined by a class 421

You should prehaps use a tgv and 350 or somthing like that.
Re: HS2 train exterior model livery [community effort]
All you [ the community] need to go is get a blank piece of canvas, re size to 2058 - 512. and then create a new livery. ill do the rest.
No TVG, 390 or suggestions, We have already got the basic information and such ( we have being brainstorming for ages) now we need a livery.
All you have to do is design
Just nothing that has already being out (virgin,FTPE,GNER) just a new concept.

Bear in mind, that the livery needs to look good, at around 250mph.

Yes, my point is that I see it as empty message. Will try another browser.

We need better specifications: height of doors, height of carraige, length of the "nose", the position of the doors and so on...
Re: HS2 train exterior model livery [community effort]
I explained that i will make the doors, All you need is the canvas size which i explained. and then the with layers ill add doors and windows. its easy
don't worry about adding windows or decals. ill do that myself

Oh, BTW, here's a livery I came up with in 15 minutes. Unfortunately I included my own doors and windows... The HS2 logo is to be replaced with the proper one, which I don't have.
Re: HS2 train exterior model livery [community effort]
That looks brilliant! i wonder ( if you don't mind) if you could make a copy without doors and windows?

Shall Ï also involve myself with creating some color variation? Something like BVE WorldWide skin?

That’s great ! It’s good to see something collaborative.
For power-of-two size, it is 2048 × 512 (211 × 29).

Nando's won't be the only franchise to open a restaurant on HS2 - well...the Nando's restaurant is an example of how HS2 could recover costs, by offering brand name restaurants onboard services.
It think we need to also include a digital display at the doorways, especially as there are going to be different zones onboard the primary HS2 service.
