More work on the FTPE livery today. also done a little more with the 3D cab, and updated the website with change notes for the cab.

Hate to say this but isn’t that just the TPE livery? The FTPE one has a bit more pink and purple on it

Other than that looks nice

Here's a quite nice photo of a London Midland 350.

I hope this helps in that WIP cab of yours.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/rpmarks/15032018124/in/photostream/

Lots of things seem to stick out a bit on the right hand side of the cab in the photo and also your 3D cab is currently also missing a AWS indicator that sort of lets it down a bit.

Along with the odd other bits.

I could go on about what else is wrong with it but I am sure you will sort that out over time.

Although the rather stupid stickers on the left hand side of the cab jump to mind.

I also thought that the late lamented Alan Wheeler actually made the trains on Pioneer and now I am being proved wrong.

Hope it helps.

So good luck with it!

Edward Harris also posted a rather detailed shot on Flickr (i presume it was a passing opportunity with the drivers door open ) that i have been able to read all the buttons from that, but thank you for the link.  As for the safety signs, these are done via a warning sign i noticed in a 350 cab when me and Adam last went to London visiting Alan.

I have tried a different interior colour as per another picture but these just dont have the same results as the first option, so ill revert back to that when i have chance to re texture the walls and panels.  For now i am focusing on trying to implement all 3D dials and buttons. I have a holiday in the next couple of days so will be putting the cab to one side, but when i'm back i'll be planning a trip down to London to hopefully capture a few 350's. as for the AWS, i'm currently making the sunflower 3D, and boy, is that a pain!

I'm always up for your comments Steve, always good to hear feedback from the best.

Cant wait for it. Also is there any possibility of the intercity 225 and 15X series returning? I do miss them and itd be glorious to have them back agaim in BVE as we know it. Possibly a developer in the future could add interiors to those without and or make realistic sound packs. Maybe you should do a class 465 as i went on to youtube (not like me, im not a youtube type of person), there is a nice one available which i played. Seems ok, maybe you could build that in the future?

Not too certain in that. Just thought tossing up ideas and thoughts was a good idea. Probably not but hey ho.

The class 156 won’t be returning, the class 158/9 versions I don’t have any copies of, if a player ya a copy and fires me a link I can go from there, but I don’t plan on it otherwise. And if I was to start the 158/9 again the frame would be reworked and new textures obtained. The cabs are still available to download at bve4trains DMU section. And I believe he has a good set of externals too that can be downloaded.

The class 91 I have, and I am currently underway with designing a cab for that, I have no pictures of a cab for a 2d panel, so it’ll have to be a 3D cab, but for now the 350 cab takes priority. I fly at 4pm tomorrow and I’m away for a week so when I return I’ll take a look at what’s next. I’ll put a little update on the cab progress on my site tonight.

Up until you made the new site all of them where available to download.

I must admit how can doing a 3D cab be a better idea than a 2D?

I have stuck with making photo real 2D cabs.

I've never been two sure that a not very accurate not photo real 3D cab is actually needed in Open Bve.

Do you really need to look at the cab roof?

With an interior view should you make the toilet to include all the details?

And if you do will you find someone in there having a er sit down......

They were all available til about the 2015 era. When it just decided to give up and break. Unfortunatrly it remains. Ive tried for hours modiying the adress to see if it loads but it doesnt function properly.

This may seem like begging. But before you fly, or after. Would it be posible to release just the mesh and exterior textures rather than the whole thing at once. At least then the community has something to shoot around the ECML for a bit of time.

Its be a miracle if you would. Not too certain... Tell me what you think.

I can understand Stevegr having doubts about the 3D cab format, perhaps it's fair to say the 3D cab isn't everyone's "cup of tea". But that doesn't mean there's no point in making one.  Ideally, there would be plentiful choice of trains of both types.
A similar debate has long run over detailed interiors. Some like them, others think them unnecessary - feeling that the driving cab view is quite enough, thanks all the same.
Fair play to Ben at Pioneer at least giving the best effort to producing a 3D cab to the best of his ability. Personally, I prefer to make a photorealistic panel2 cab for my stock (except the PW Inspection car, which is the only Celtic article with a 3D cab). I don't scorn others who go down the 3D route.
I'm happy that there can be the choice. There have been many features added over the years, significantly in recent times since Chris has been working hard to keep the program up to date and relevant.
With an interior view should you make the toilet to include all the details?
Ummmm, that comment just about reaches the bottom! Very Happy

Unless somebody wants to make MK1 coaching stock with animated toilet action that chucks it out on to the tracks???

Well, I have actually heard a guy (British as well, there are many of them in my new company) call someone else "you hairy ballbag", so I think nothing can surprise me anymore... even though I already heard that once and it came from an Irish guy. Not you, gray, not you. Laughing albino

Anyhow, I suggest we let ballbags alone now, this is more of a station pub topic. Let's go back to discussing the sim.  Laughing
