Multiple station announcements

Post by Movingmillion on Sat Feb 23, 2019 7:04 pm

Hello. Yes I'm back, but I'm not posting updates here anymore, for reasons that are obvious.
Anyway, I have an enquiry and I can't seem to get definite answers anywhere. The .sta command allows for a sound to be played when the doors open, or if in a siding, the train is stopped at. Is it possible to have it play a sound to its finish, and then start playing a second sound?

You can get asound to play at any point along the track using the "doppler" instruction set in the Track space:

Track.Doppler FileName; X; Y
FileName: The file name for the sound to play, relative to the Sound folder.
X: A floating-point number representing the horizontal offset from rail 0, by default measured in meters. Negative values indicate left, positive ones right.
Y: A floating-point number representing the vertical offset from rail 0, by default measured in meters. Negative values indicate below, positive ones above.
This command places an environmental sound effect at the specified location. The sound will play in a loop for the duration of the simulation and employs the doppler effect. (Note: All sounds in openBVE employ the doppler effect.)
Although the sound will play repeated (loop) at the insertion point, so it may not be a suitable means to implement what you were planning.
