wont open any simulations

Hi, I'm new here. I've downloaded the latest version of the simulator and a couple of routes mainly Cheltenham and cwm twypsn and the associated trains files and I've installed them using the packages manager as the instructions say to do so. When I go to load the simulation it closes the selection menu and then shows the thinking ring for approximately 2 secs and then the menu page reappears. I've included the logs and having look at them I can see why I'm getting the audio dev exception as this machine is used for other programs that do this without any issues. any help would be appreciated

My apologies, 1.5.4.0 appears to have been broken on any system with no physical microphone inputs
