Scrolling Destination Blind

Post by Movingmillion on Sat Nov 10, 2018 3:13 pm

Hello all,
As you are probably aware, our group is currently working on the A60 Stock in conjunction with our Metropolitan Line route. As you are also probably aware, the A60 had a destination blind, and not a matrix display. Would it be possible to have a realistic working Destination blind, where upon the push of a button the blind will start scrolling through destinations, and when that button is pushed again, it will stop exactly (or almost exactly) at the point when the button was pressed?

I remember that; but at a pretty high price! I digress; but for all members, would it be possible to recreate a destination blind like that of the A60 for example, like stated above, in openBVE?

It is possible, the NYC subway developers have done it.

Hmm. There are certain aspects that I believe will be different, but might be possible to integrate into the new train, like the exact stoppage

Exact stoppage is not needed. The idea around the NYC subway concept of a rolling sign is that you press a button to start it and then press it again when you need it to stop. Even in real life sometimes the destination blind shows the destination a little too high or low

Thats what I'm talking about; a system where if you press it a tad too early or a tad too late, it won't just automatically go to the next one
