Ah, the good old signal box! Still have some of those on one of my local routes.

What are the odds against a signal self-destructing as you film it? They must be astronomical.

ROFL Maybe the photographer is like Kaas.
Kaas, a Dutch lad, was my apprentice in central electrical workshop and we soon learnt to keep him away from live equipment, cos despite him being eager to learn and a good worker, he had some kind of jinx that everything he went near blew up.
One shutdown, chemicals workshop insisted on borrowing him, despite our attempts to advice them otherwise, and they sent him to get something from the space behind the chlorine rectiformers. The poor guy just opened the gate and sparks flew everywhere, and they spent the next three weeks replacing all the diodes in all three rectiformers. We got Kaas back p.d.q.
