LM are getting Das Boot and will soon be replaced by a new consortium. I'm not too excited about the 'Abellio' aspect of this new franchise, although the input from JR East could be very interesting...hopefully. Franchises here in the UK tend to ultimately be a cash cow for somebody's Jaguar fund - that being said, I get the impression that a few franchises have had a kick up the backside and made massive improvements in recent years, specifically FGW which reflected it's changes with the new brand, GWR.

It seems that some Chinese railfans are quite frustrated because GWR imported JR trains, and JR has been an opponent of CRRC for quite a while. Anyway, a international online dispute is rising...... Japanese railfans think CRRC's trains as "cheap garbage made in china", and Chinese railfans think JR's trains as "expensive but maybe not that dependable". The recent electrical system and air conditioner fault also worsen the situation.
